Palestine Islamic Bank and SOS Children’s Villages Sign Partnership Agreement to Support the “Emergency Education Project” in the Gaza Strip

Palestine Islamic Bank (PIB) and SOS Children’s Villages signed a partnership agreement to support the Emergency Education Project in the Gaza Strip, implemented by the organization.

The agreement was signed at the headquarters of PIB’s General Administration in Ramallah, in the presence of the Bank’s General Manager, Dr. Imad Al-Sadi; the National Director of SOS Children’s Villages Palestine, Ghada Harzallah; and a number of managers from both sides.

Under the agreement, the Bank will cover the costs and expenses of educating 200 students for one year as part of the project. The initiative falls within the organization’s core interventions and the national efforts to revitalize the education sector in the Gaza Strip, which has suffered extensive damage over the past two years.

Dr. Al-Sadi stated that Palestine Islamic Bank is keen to make meaningful contributions in service of the Palestinian people through its sustainable corporate social responsibility program, noting that the education sector is a top priority within this program as a vital and fundamental sector for recovery, advancement, and sustainable development. He also referred to the ongoing directives of the Bank’s Board of Directors to implement such community initiatives and partnerships.

Dr. Al-Sadi explained that this agreement is part of a series of interventions undertaken by the Bank to support the education sector in the Gaza Strip, the most recent of which was the signing of an agreement with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to establish a school in northern Gaza, in addition to other relief-related initiatives implemented by the Bank.

He added: “We are proud of our partnership in these efforts led by SOS Children’s Villages Palestine, which contribute to supporting the education journey in the Gaza Strip and to providing a better future for our children.”

For her part, Ghada Harzallah, National Director of SOS Children’s Villages, expressed her appreciation for PIB’s efforts and its solidarity within national endeavors aimed at supporting children’s education in the Gaza Strip. She affirmed that this initiative comes at a critically important time, as investing in children’s education is a sustainable investment in their future and directly contributes to enhancing their opportunities and laying stronger foundations for a better tomorrow.
